Small businesses need help to survive from this winter Flood
London Councils, the body which represents local authorities in the Capital, has called on ministers to offer more support for SMEs hit by flooding as the wet weather continues to impact business. The organisation urged the Government to make key changes to the Water Bill which is going through Parliament. The changes include giving SMEs and charity shops help to obtain the best insurance possible in the event of flooding. Separately, a report from Lloyds Bank Insurance claims more than 33% of UK small business owners have not taken any measures to ensure they are adequately protected against flooding. The Big Issues for Small Businesses report suggests 1.6m businesses could be left at risk as a result.
