Plans for the directory had initially been limited to retirement advisers but have now been given the green light by the industry and consumers. All those approaching retirement will have access to financial guidance from April 2015. After an industry-wide consultation, it has been decided that an independent panel will rule on whether the directory will include details only of retirement specialists, or be opened up to include all advisers.
